Filling the MAP Gap: How-To's and Essentials

Filling the MAP Gap: How-To's and Essentails

This training will prepare participants to facilitate person-centered planning using MAPs (Making Action Plans). The MAPs process will be detailed and participants will learn how to conduct a MAP. We will also discuss the differences between system-centered and person-centered approaches. This training is for individuals who have not previously facilitated a MAP. Participants are highly encouraged to have a member of our staff observe them facilitate a MAP after the training so that we may check the fidelity of implementation.

After attending, you will be able to:

  • Explain the difference between a systems-centered approach and a person-centered approach.
  • Identify the steps involved in each of the following person-centered planning tools: Circle of Support and MAP.
  • Utilize person-centered planning techniques to involve individuals in planning for services and integration into community settings.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Training may be cancelled or rescheduled if minimum enrollment is not reached.
